Latvian Parliamentary Elections in Northern Ireland

Following the dissolution of the Latvian parliament (Saeima) after the national referendum held on 23rd July, parliamentary elections will take place on Saturday 17th September 2011 to elect a new government for the Republic of Latvia.

The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Northern Ireland, has for a second time been entrusted by the Embassy of Latvia in London to facilitate Latvian citizens to cast their vote at The Latvian Consulate Office, which is based in Drumalane Mill, The Quays, Newry.
The result of the Referendum was an overwhelming majority vote in favour of the dissolution of the 10th government of the Republic of Latvia, resulting in the emergency Parliamentary elections being announced by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Latvia.

Hosting the parliamentary elections at the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Northern Ireland, will enable all Latvian citizens residing in or visiting Northern Ireland to cast their vote in this very important ballot. All Latvian citizens are encouraged to use their constitutional rights to vote and therefore strengthen the Country’s democracy and improve the political and economic environment.
